SLEEVELESS FENCING DOUBLET (JERKIN)
This is our basic untrimmed sleeveless fencing doublet (jerkin) made with three layers of trigger sports cloth and metallic buttons. We now have buttonholes instead of loops for the button closure! WHEN IT IS WORN WITH THE GUSSET SHIRT (RC3), it meets the armor standards for those kingdoms requiring 4 layers in the torso, one layer for the arms and 4 layers in the underarm area (gusset). Guaranteed to pass a punch or drop test!

These tie-on sleeves are designed to match the trigger sports cloth fencing doublet (jerkin) above. They have points with aglets (cords with metal tips) for threading through eyes sewn into the doublet armhole at the shoulder.

STRAIGHT TRIM DOUBLET (JERKIN)
These custom fencing doublets and jerkins are made of stock brocade/damask fabrics which we recommend be dry cleaned. They are lined with 2 layers of trigger and trimmed with metallic buttons and metallic gimp/trim sewn straight around the garment as pictured. Guaranteed to pass a punch or drop test!

These custom fencing jerkins are made of Limited Stock brocade/damask fabrics which we recommend be dry cleaned. They are lined with 2 layers of trigger and closed with metallic buttons and buttonholes. Metallic gimp trims the wings and the picadils (tabs) along the bottom. Guaranteed to pass a punch or drop test!

These tie-on sleeves are designed to match any of the trimmed custom fabric doublet/jerkin pictured here and above. They have a layer of satin that can be seen below the panes which matches the paned trunkhose (see RC12B in the Pants Section). They have points with aglets (cords with metal tips) for threading through eyes sewn into the doublet armhole at the shoulder. Since most of our brocaded fabric is limited, we suggest you order your sleeves at the same time as your doublet. This not only guarantees the fabric will be available, but it will also be the same dye lot. The trim selection is the same as the custom fabric doublets. OUR SIZING STANDARDS FOR RAPIER DOUBLETS
Our Rapier Doublets are not sized by modern sizing standards since period clothing does not fit like modern clothing. The numbers in the sizing chart are ACTUAL BODY MEASUREMENTS, not modern sizes.

ATTENTION - FEMALE RAPIER FIGHTERS

The sizing instructions are for men only! These garments are cut long in the torso and fit most men; however, the majority of the women fencers will need to get a "female torso" doublet because of their shorter torso. Also, the feminine bust, waist, hips ratio have to be taken into consideration so you will probably wear a size smaller than these instructions. There is no extra charge for shortening the torso! We ask that you contact us with your bust, waist, hips and nape of neck to back waist measurements and we will insure that your receive the correct size for your figure.

All rapier fighters are encouraged to contact us, if you still aren't sure which size will fit you best. Have your actual chest/girth/waist measurements ready to give us.

There is some leeway in the sizes so if you fall between sizes contact us and we will help you make a size selection. If your actual body measurements are a great deal larger or smaller than the ones listed on this chart
you will probably need the pattern adjusted to a custom size. Most custom sizes will only be done after we see you in person at Pennsic for the initial measurement session
so that I can see first hand how your body compares to our pattern - especially if your chest/girth measurement is more than 52".
There is an additional charge for custom sizes.
